A game built for a client “Playwest” being a creative fun way to educate University students on health and safety at the University. Using abilities via drag and drop the player must navigate lost students towards the exit while avoiding dangers and obstacles. Each level has a percentage % of students that need to make it to the end, the limitation being abilities available and surviving students.

My Contribution

For this project we had six teams of 6-8 people. I lead the ability implementation team. Our role was to design how the abilities interacted with the other features of the game such as the student AI. I implemented the First Aider (Green), Marshal (Yellow) and DJ (Blue) ability. I also designed the drag and drop design of abilities and the UI particle effects once the ability is placed (white rotating symbols) for the area of effect of given ability.

Play Through Example:

  1. Students spawn at entrance
  2. Marshal ability (Yellow) to move students within radius in selected direction
  3. Fire Ahead!!!! Use DJ(Blue) ability to stall pawns around DJ.
  4. Use Phone Ability (Red) to put out fire obstacle.
  5. Use another Marshal Ability (Yellow) to point students to the finish!
  6. Reach at least 70% students to finish
  7. Level Complete! 3 Stars!
